Living room two ways: Target edition

Two different styles of living room all from the same store.

I wanted to put together some ideas for a way to refresh your living room without breaking the bank. What’s a more accessible way to do so other than Target? I had fun putting these together and hope you find a little inspiration as both of these could easily be tweaked to fit more of your personal style. Both vignettes have similar layouts and hopefully you can find ways to apply them to your own space (e.g., maybe you need a sectional instead of a sofa).

I’ve linked all items that I sourced below each image. Let me know if you end up purchasing anything!

Vignette 1

I chose items that were a rough mix of styles like French country, traditional, and transitional. All of these neutral tones can make a room feel calm, cozy, and refined. If you’re looking to incorporate more color, I suggest doing so with throw pillows, artwork, and florals.

Vignette 2

This vignette includes a mix of items that read a bit more eclectic, expressive, and transitional. I like to think of it as a more modern, cozy play on mid-century modern. One thing to note is that the big pieces of furniture are still all pretty neutral in color which makes it easy for you to make changes around them. Most of the funkier colors and interesting shapes come from accent pieces and decor that’s easy to switch out. I also like the idea of playing with color-on-color here which is why I chose an unexpected paint color for the room.
